How We Began
No Kids Without Wheels started four years ago with a simple thought in mind: What better way to recycle bikes than to donate them to children who don’t have one? This simple idea, brainstormed by Ed Connolly and his grandson, became the founding mission for what would become No Kids Without Wheels.
The past four years have been a journey. Operating through Our Lady Queen of Peace church, we have given out over a thousand bikes to children in Monroe, Carbon, and Pike county. We are a small organization that personally delivers bikes to those who reach out to us and provides bikes for community events to give to children.
As a nonprofit organization, our goal is to provide children with bikes so they may experience that exhilarating emotion when they manage to ride one without training wheels or supervision. We do this so children know firsthand the meaning behind the famous phrase, “It’s like riding a bike.”
